New Track4Techs Educational Program Added to CompTIA ChannelCon 2014 Lineup
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For the first time, CompTIA, the ICT Industry Association, will offer educational programming created specifically for information technology (IT) technicians at ChannelCon 2014, the premier partnering and training event for IT vendors, distributors and channel partners.
"The Track4Techs program at ChannelCon will explore how, in today's world of big data, cloud computing, cyber security, mobility and other innovations, the role of the highly-skilled technician is more important than ever," said Kelly Ricker, senior vice president, events and education, CompTIA.
ChannelCon 2014 is set for Aug. 4-6 at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix.
The Track4Techs program features seven sessions over two days.
On Aug. 5, the program kicks off with "Why Being a Geek is More Important than Ever," an examination of changes in the IT landscape and the continuing need for workers with the right skill sets.
"Not Your Father's A+ - The Future of Electronics Repair" will detail how CompTIA A+ certification has evolved to keep pace with the changing roles and responsibilities of IT technicians.
As an added bonus for CompTIA certified professionals, this session qualifies for one continuing education unit (CEU) credit for CompTIA A+ certification renewal.
Day one concludes with "Unleash the Sales Person in You & Boost Your Career." This session will explore how technical staff – which often has the closest relationship, most credibility and best understanding of a client's business – can use that insight to recommend additional technology solutions to help customers and increase sales.
On Aug. 6 the program resumes with "Why Being a Geek is More Important than Ever - The Voice of the Industry." Industry leaders will share their perspective on the changes in enterprise technology and the skills that are needed to respond.
"What Your Mobile Device Says about You … Literally" will cover the practical implications of the technologies in mobile devices, as well as specific steps that IT technicians can take to protect individuals and organizations online.
For CompTIA certified professionals, this session qualifies for one CEU credit toward renewal of CompTIA Security+, Mobility+ or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner certification.
"The Keys to Delivering World-Class Customer Service" is an engaging session to help IT technicians hone their skills to deliver world-class customer service.
In the final session – "SDN - Moving into Our Software Defined Future" – attendees will learn the basics of Software Defined Networking (SDN), as well as some of the exciting things it will allow networking professionals to do now and in the future.
This session qualifies for one CEU credit for CompTIA Network+ or Cloud+ certification renewal.
