SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A new survey, conducted by Kelton and sponsored by the makers of the Invisalign® clear aligner system, reveals that after putting personal needs aside in 2014, women are working hard towards their self-improvement goals this year. Of the 40 percent of women who set self-improvement goals at the start of 2015, 98 percent of those women are still committed to at least one goal while 65 percent say they have been successful so far.
However, for the 60 percent of women who did not resolve to improve themselves at the start of the year, it's not too late to reach an attainable goal in 2015. Forty-five percent of women would be motivated to improve themselves by the end of the year if they saw quick results. For instance, women can start improving their smile in a short amount of time, and is something many women believe would give them a boost of confidence (44 percent) and happiness (36 percent).
"Women are still able to improve their smile in 2015, and with September being Self-Improvement month, now is a perfect time to get started," said Dr. Patricia Panucci, DMD, MS. "Women can book a consultation, get a customized treatment plan, receive their Invisalign clear aligners and begin to see an improved smile before the new year."
Invisalign clear aligners provide a discreet option for women looking to straighten their teeth without the hassle and embarrassment of traditional wire and bracket braces. With Invisalign treatment, an improving smile is on display everyday -- no wire or brackets to detract from a confident smile, no interference in professional or personal lives from a mouth full of metal.
"With 98% of women sticking to their goals, the Invisalign brand survey indicates women are starting to put themselves first, despite their numerous other responsibilities for others," said Bahar Takhtehchian, a beauty and lifestyle expert.
A study conducted earlier this year also by Kelton (Invisalign New Year New You Survey) reported that 61 percent of women let their personal needs take a backseat to other priorities in 2014. In comparison, the data suggests a shift in mindset. "Women are finally getting the message that it's OK to 'choose you' and schedule 'me time' by incorporating realistic goals that will help boost confidence and contribute to self-improvement," added Takhtehchian.
In addition to improving their smile, other self-improvement goals that women felt they could achieve by the end of the year include:
- Lose weight (60 percent)
- Incorporate healthier foods into diet (58 percent)
- Commit money into a savings plan (40 percent)
- Improve work/life balance (32 percent) (among working women only)
- Plan a vacation (31 percent)
- Pick up a new hobby (25 percent)
