New Study Proves Chem-Dry's Proprietary Cleaning Process Makes Homes Healthier
Results Reveal Chem-Dry Removes 98.1% of Allergens from Carpets and Upholstery, 89% of Airborne Bacteria
NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Further cementing its position as the category leader, a new study found that Chem-Dry, the world's leading carpet and upholstery cleaning service, significantly reduces the amount of common indoor allergens and bacteria in the home. After vigorous testing of Chem-Dry's proprietary Hot Carbonating Extraction (HCE) cleaning process, researchers found Chem-Dry's cleaning method to remove an average of 98.1 percent of common household allergens from carpets and upholstery and, when combined with their sanitizer, an average of 89 percent of the airborne bacteria in the home.
The study was conducted by a leading independent air quality laboratory in a cross-section of consumer homes in the U.S. and internationally. The specific common household allergens tested were cat and dog dander and dust mite allergens.
"We were pleased that our cleaning process shined through with superior results in this study, solidifying Chem-Dry's position as the Healthy Home brand in the carpet cleaning industry," said Dan Tarantin, CEO of Chem-Dry. "Whether you suffer from allergies or asthma, or you just want to provide the healthiest home for your family, our proprietary cleaning products and process are extremely effective in removing common allergens and bacteria from the home and improving indoor air quality, creating a healthier living environment for families worldwide."
Americans spend an average of 90 percent of their time indoors, so having carpet and upholstery professionally cleaned is essential to maintaining a healthy home, especially for the 1 in 5 Americans who suffer from allergies. Carpets, area rugs and upholstered furniture help indoor air quality by acting as giant filters that absorb dirt, allergens and bacteria, but they need to be professionally cleaned in order to remain optimally effective. Without regular professional cleanings, bacteria and other unhealthy elements that have built up in the carpets get stirred up, become airborne and circulate throughout the home when there is activity in the room. Chem-Dry's ability to provide a deep clean that removes a high percentage of allergens in carpets and upholstery, as well as bacteria from the air, demonstrates how effective its process is at creating healthier homes.
In conjunction with the release of these study findings, Chem-Dry has launched a "Spring into a Healthier Home" campaign, giving homeowners nationwide the chance to win a free carpet and upholstery cleaning package. Visit Chem-Dry on Facebook for more details.
