New Statewide Poll Shows Landrieu 36, Cassidy 30, Maness 18 in Senate Race
BATON ROUGE, La., Nov. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A statewide poll conducted Saturday for Family Research Action shows the U.S. Senate race in Louisiana is getting tighter. Among likely voters, the poll showed Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu at 36 percent, Republican Congressman Bill Cassidy at 30 percent, and Republican Col. Rob Maness at 18 percent.
In a December 6 runoff, the poll showed Cassidy beating Landrieu 48 percent to 36 percent, and Maness beating Landrieu 44 percent to 33 percent.
The survey called 10,000 Louisiana households from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday night.
"Support for Rob Maness is rising statewide, while Landrieu and Cassidy are falling. This poll shows Maness can win a runoff against Landrieu," said FRC Action President Tony Perkins.
Perkins noted the poll is similar to one released yesterday by NBC News. However, he pointed out that the FRC Action poll is less than one day old.
FRC Action PAC has endorsed Maness for the U.S. Senate.
