New State Distracted Driving Laws Range From Complete Bans of Cell Phones to Particular Features Like Texting
Technology Solutions like CellControl Help Drivers Pick and Choose which Cell Phone Features can be Prohibited Depending on which State They Live in
BATON ROUGE, La., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CellControl, a leading provider of driving while distracted solutions, today announced that its driving while distracted technology is able to accommodate and adjust to every states' particular laws concerning bans on distracted driving. Yesterday, the State of Louisiana began enforcing Senate Bill nine that made texting while a driver is operating a vehicle a primary offense. Like many other states, Louisiana restricts its ban to particular features of a cell phone, like texting, email, or Internet.
"Driving while distracted has become a national epidemic, a fact that seems even more observable as more motorists share public roadways during the summer time," said Chuck Cox, CEO of CellControl. "Each state in our country has passed or is considering passing laws that define the acceptable level of legal usage of a cell phone, whether it is an outright ban or just a specific feature, like texting. Regardless of which features each state bans, CellControl remains committed to helping both businesses and consumers safely and easily comply with each law through customizable policy dashboards and up-to-date information on state laws."
Utilizing patent pending technology, CellControl has the ability to block the distracting features that come as part of mobile phone services, including outgoing and incoming texts, calls, and voicemails. The CellControl solution, which is Bluetooth enabled and uses a vehicle's onboard technology to signal vehicle motion, provides customizable control, vehicle monitoring and tamper-proof enforcement features that make it the perfect tool for customers ranging from large fleet owners to individual families. For fleet customers, distracted driving liabilities are rising rapidly, with multi-million dollar verdicts having been recently awarded against companies that failed to actively enforce their usage policies.
State Government Testing CellControl
