New SMRP Award Program Launched
CMRP of the Year Awards to Recognize High-Achieving Certificants
ATLANTA, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) is announcing the launch of the CMRP of the Year Awards to recognize outstanding achievement among the 3,500 individuals possessing the SMRP Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. The CMRP is the top credentialing program for certifying knowledge, skills and experience of M&R professionals and is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
"This is a milestone for SMRP, and we are excited to recognize colleagues in the M&R industry who stand out from the crowd – even among a distinguished group like CMRP holders," said SMRP Chair Shon Isenhour, CMRP.
Awards will be presented in two categories: Rising Leader (0-10 years in the industry) and Veteran Professional (10+ years in the industry).
A newly-formed Award Committee will select winners based on established criteria, including leadership, positive impact of career achievements, involvement in the M&R community, and academic coursework.
"SMRP's mission is to promote leaders in Reliability and Physical Asset Management," said Mr. Isenhour. "The CMRP of the Year Awards provide a new way to demonstrate the value of our profession and allows colleagues to recognize each other for their work."
Nominations will open in June. Winners will be recognized at the 2013 SMRP Annual Conference, October 14-16 in Indianapolis.
