On May 19, 2014, Schlumberger Limited (Schlumberger) announced the introduction of its GeoSphere reservoir mapping-while-drilling service. The Company stated that the new technology reveals features in subsurface beddings and fluid contacts at the reservoir scale to optimize well landing operations, steering capabilities and mapping of multiple boundaries using new deep-directional resistivity measurements. According to the Company, the new service, which has been tested in more than 140 wells worldwide, can be used by drilling teams to lessen drilling risk and to land wells accurately. Hess Corporation Analyst Notes
On May 19, 2014, Hess Corporation (Hess), together with North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple, Senator John Hoeven and other government officials, celebrated the recently completed expansion of the Tioga Gas Plant. Hess stated that the project, part of a more than $1.5 billion infrastructure investment made by the Company between 2012 and 2014 in North Dakota, more than doubles the facility's operational capacity and also brings a substantial improvement in efficiency, while significantly decreasing the amount of natural gas flared at the Company's operations.
