HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Serta has redesigned and engineered the new Perfect Sleeper® mattress collection to address five common sleep problems that more than half of Americans face. Every new Perfect Sleeper mattress is built with a unique set of advanced comfort and support features to address common problems that often prevent consumers from getting a quality night's sleep: tossing and turning, lack of support, sleeping too hot, partner disturbance and mattress roll-off or sagging. The latest upgrades and innovations in the new collection include Cool Action™ gel memory foam and an advanced individually wrapped coil innerspring system in select Perfect Sleeper models. In addition, every Perfect Sleeper includes an exclusive booklet from the National Sleep Foundation with suggestions, tips and resources to get the maximum benefit from the mattress.
"We believe that our product innovations should provide people with the most comfortable sleep possible," said Andrew Gross, senior vice president of marketing for Serta. "We worked in partnership with the National Sleep Foundation to understand the common problems associated with a mattress that can contribute to an overall poor quality of sleep and designed our new Perfect Sleeper mattress collection to effectively address these issues."
In a recent survey1, Serta found that 67% of Americans have dealt with at least one of the five common sleep problems, and only one-third of Americans said they feel well-rested in the morning. In addition, lack of sleep can also have an effect on mood and interpersonal relationships. The survey found that 82% of Americans say that they've been in a bad mood from lack of sleep and 69% say being tired has negatively impacted relationships with a significant other or friends/family at some point.
"The Perfect Sleeper is the ideal mattress for couples suffering from varying sleep issues. Because the Perfect Sleeper helps solve five common sleep problems, it addresses the different sleep problems that each person may be facing and allows couples to get more quality sleep which can benefit their relationship overall," said Gross. "Most people fail to realize that their old mattress could be contributing to their poor sleep quality."
According to the survey results, nearly all (92%) new mattress owners say they wake up feeling well rested—significantly more likely to do so than those with an older mattress. Replacing a mattress every seven to ten years is an important factor for overall sleep quality and Serta offers affordable options to meet every individual's unique comfort and support needs. The Perfect Sleeper series includes a variety of mattress options including innerspring and, new this year, memory foam, at affordable prices ranging from $399 - $1,299 for a standard queen set.
"A comfortable mattress is a key element in improving your bedroom environment and enjoying the benefits a good night's sleep," said David Cloud, CEO of the National Sleep Foundation. "We're proud to be working with Serta to educate the public about the importance of sleep to your overall health and well-being."
Addressing the Five Common Sleep Problems
Serta has directly addressed each sleep problem with new innovation, design and/or engineering improvements.
- Tossing and turning can be reduced with the Comfort Right® Layers in the innerspring or Cool Action™ Gel Memory Foam in the foam offerings. These help reduce the pressure points that can cause tossing and turning so you can sleep more comfortably through the night.
- Lack of support is relieved with Serta's Custom Support® System. Each innerspring mattress has durable yet flexible carbon steel coils working to promote proper support and alignment across the entire body. Serta Perfect Sleeper Memory Foam features Comfort Last® Foam Core with Ultimate Edge® Support for proper support for a good night's sleep.
- Sleeping too hot is helped with the Cool Balance® Technology in both the innerspring and foam offerings. It combines high-performance heat and moisture-regulating fabric with an overall mattress design that helps promote airflow. Together, these help promote a comfortable, balanced sleep temperature.
- Partner disturbance is alleviated with the TrueSense® Design. This system helps minimize the impact of partner movements in both the innerspring and foam offerings. It works to isolate motion at its source so you can enjoy a peaceful night's sleep with fewer disruptions.
- Mattress roll-off or sagging is prevented with the Comfort Last® Construction in the Perfect Sleeper innerspring mattress. Each model is designed to enhance the durability of the mattress and is thoroughly tested beyond industry standards to make sure it can resist sagging and edge roll-off. Ultimate Edge® Foam Encasement System addresses roll-off or sag in the Perfect Sleeper memory foam line. High-density foam rails around the perimeter of the mattress core strengthen the mattress edges and reduce edge "roll-off" so you have more room to stretch. This enhanced durability can help extend the comfort life of your mattress.
Additionally, research shows that people are doing more in bed now than just sleeping—including checking up on email, watching TV and working from home. Serta now offers value-priced adjustable foundations, such as the Motion Essentials II and Pivot, that pair with select Perfect Sleeper models so you can do everything you want to do in bed with comfort.
Perfect Rewards Program
As an added perk, Serta has introduced the Perfect Rewards program, allowing purchasers of Perfect Sleeper mattresses to enroll in an exclusive online program and receive hundreds of dollars in savings on everyday products and services as well as savings of up to $100 on a new Serta mattress purchase. Perfect Rewards members will also receive discounts on dining, shopping, travel, sports and movies, as well as exclusive content from the National Sleep Foundation, and mattress savings offers.
