New Sam's Club Adds Savings in South Lincoln
Long-term relationship in Lincoln expands with new jobs, fuel station and community giving
LINCOLN, Neb., Aug. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- After serving the Lincoln community for nearly two decades on 27th Street, Sam's Club today announced the opening of a new Sam's Club in south Lincoln on Wednesday, Aug. 29, following an 8 a.m. ceremony. The new club, located at 8480 Andermatt Drive at the intersection of 84th and Highway 2, is easily accessible to south Lincoln residents and surrounding communities along Highway 2.

Club to Employ 175 Associates
The new Lincoln Sam's Club brings new jobs with career opportunities to Lincoln and surrounding communities, employing approximately 175 associates.

Club Manager Jon Rowe started his career with Sam's Club in Grand Island in 1998, as an evening closer and overnight merchandiser. As an avid Husker fan and former UNL student, Rowe brings experience and enthusiasm to his new position as Club manager in Lincoln.

Fuel Station and Hearing Center among Added Amenities
As the capitol city continues to expand south, Highway 2 ushers traffic in the south side of town. Those traveling to, through and out of Lincoln will have the convenience of a new Sam's Club fuel station open to members, which is located adjacent to the club. The station will have 12 pumps, including diesel, an additional benefit for the area's large agricultural community.
The new club will also debut a Sam's Club Hearing Aid Center, offering premium technology in hearing aid and personal listening devices alongside the care of a certified audiologist, along with an Optical Center with numerous eye care services.
Other health and wellness benefits include the Sam's Club pharmacy, open to members and the public, featuring $4 and $10 generic prescriptions and extraordinary savings on branded prescriptions. Sam's Club also offers an optical department, free monthly health screenings and Healthy Living Made Simple magazine to help members take charge of their health through preventative measures.
Sam's Club to Support Lincoln, Local Charities

As part of a nationwide collaboration between Sam's Club and Feeding America, Sam's Club donated more than 39 million meals in 2011 to Feeding America, the nation's largest hunger-relief charity.

In 2011, Sam's Club locations and other Walmart stores collectively gave more than $5.5 million in cash and in-kind donations to local organizations in Nebraska. Through additional funds donated by members, customers and associates, contributions in Nebraska totaled more than $6.1 million.

The grand opening ceremony will take place at 8 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29. Local dignitaries, including Mayor Beutler, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce members to include Director of Membership Paul Miloni, and Tom Osborne, representing Teammates, will be in attendance, along with 175 Sam's Club associates.
