New Ricoh Aficio 5200S Series MFPs Offer Big Power for Midsized Workgroups
Ricoh's latest monochrome line gives customers exciting new alternative for reducing business expenses without sacrificing performance
WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Dec. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment and advanced document management solutions and services, today unveiled a line of multifunction products (MFPs) that offer unparalleled power and affordability for busy workgroups in the 10-to-30-person range. The Ricoh® Aficio® SP 5200S/SP 5210SF/SP 5210SR Digital Imaging System is an A4 platform that inherits all the design and engineering qualities of Ricoh's market-leading A3 MFPs but in a smaller footprint and at a lower purchase price.
Responding to market demands, these new A4 MFPs deliver on the promise of advanced capabilities, seamless integration with Ricoh's productivity-enhancing solutions and simplified maintenance.
The SP 5200S series offers monochrome copy, print and fax capabilities as well as color scanning with printing speeds of 47 to 52 pages per minute, plus many more advantages over other products in its category, including:
- A large, 8.5-inch, full-color tilting LCD touch screen control panel that displays simple, animated operating instructions for uninterrupted productivity.
- An unmatched range of intuitive capabilities for document capture and distribution, including Scan-to-Email/Folder/URL with LDAP support.
- Simple maintenance with standard Ricoh supplies, an easily accessible all-in-one print cartridge rated for 25,000 pages, and a maintenance kit rated to last 120,000 pages.
- Integrated finishing instead of bulky attachments that would expand the footprint.
- Low cost per page
Powerful engine in a small space
Though occupying considerably less space, the SP 5200S series uses the same controller found in multifunction products costing three times as much. "This versatile system is among the most significant product introductions we'll make this year," said Shun Sato, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "Given that we're the market leader in A3 products, broadening the A4 line enables us to better meet all of our customers' needs, advancing the strategic information management initiatives we help them execute."
By reducing cost but not performance, the SP 5200S series serves as an ideal component of a comprehensive Ricoh Managed Document Services (MDS) engagement. The series is fully integrated with the Ricoh @Remote™ Intelligent Management System for optimizing device fleets. ENERGY STAR compliant, the series offers sustainability features such as automatic duplexing for two-sided printing.
In addition to supporting workgroups, with optional IPDS technology, this MFP line supports the back office by printing invoices and other business documents directly from business servers like the IBM AS/400. To help protect sensitive information from a multitude of threats, the SP 5200S series includes a full range of advanced security features, such as user authentication, hard drive data overwrite, SSL encryption, Wi-Fi Protect Access Support and optional ID card reader support.
The SP 5200S series starts at $3,299 MSRP and includes printer-only configurations in the SP 5200DN/SP 5210DN models. Producing 47 and 52 pages per minute respectively, the SP 5200DN and SP 5210DN offer many of the same capabilities as the MFPs, including automatic duplexing, high-performance paper handling and the latest security features. Designed to minimize total cost of ownership, these space-saving devices can expand from desktop models to five-tray floor-standing powerhouses.
