New Program Creates Innovation in Executive Career and Life Development
Entrepreneurs and Leaders from Harvard Business School develop unique program focused on personal discovery, decision-making and paths to success.
BOSTON, Nov. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Following successful careers as CEOs, Presidents, and Directors of small and large enterprises, many leaders struggle with the transition to a new purpose or endeavor. Recognizing this pattern, Tim Butler, Senior Fellow and Director of Career Development Programs at Harvard Business School, Janet Kraus, entrepreneur and former HBS instructor and Charlotte Yates, entrepreneur and CEO of Yates Ltd., have designed a unique program called "Success & Significance". This three day program assists executives in developing a personal platform to successfully navigate both career and personal life transitions.
The concept for the program was initially formed when Yates met fellow Young Presidents Organization member John A. Kuelbs in 2011, and they compared their personal experiences with career change. Yates, who experienced first-hand the emotional ups and downs of major career and life transition, directs the program and the individual sessions. "People have so much to give in each phase of their lives. We hope to show leaders how to rediscover themselves while applying their creative energy to new challenges," said Yates.
Kuelbs, now Chairman of Group 1200 Media, navigated a major career change after the sale of his first company and frequently contributes lessons from his own personal journey with participants in the program. "It's been a pleasure to share my experiences with executives coming through this incredible program. It's rewarding to see talented people reinvent themselves and find new meaning they never imagined," said Kuelbs.
"Programs like these are applicable to anyone engaged in high-profile and public positions. We often neglect to consider what's next in our lives, and then face significant challenges in times of transition," Yates added.
The next session of "Success & Significance" will be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, November 4-6, 2015. The agenda includes notable executives, professional athletes and entertainers.
