On September 7, 2014, Facebook, Inc. (Facebook) reported that videos posted on its social networking website will soon include a new feature which will allow people to see how many views a particular video has received. The Company said that to help people discover new and popular videos, views will be shown on public videos from people and Pages. The new feature comes as the Company registered over 50% growth in video views from May through July of this year. Also, it said that there has been an average of more than 1 billion video views on Facebook every day since June 2014. Further, Facebook informed that it is developing another feature that would suggest additional related videos to users as soon as they finish watching a particular video. Yahoo! Inc. Research Reports
In a blog post dated September 8, 2014 on the Yahoo! Microsoft Corporation Research Reports
On September 9, 2014, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft) is in serious discussions to buy Sweden-based Mojang AB, the maker of the popular "Minecraft" videogame. Citing unidentified people familiar with the matter, WSJ stated that the deal would be valued at more than $2 billion and could be signed as early as this week. According to WSJ, since its launch in 2009, Mojang has sold over 50 million copies of "Minecraft." WSJ added that this deal could help Microsoft appeal to a new generation of customers. Twitter, Inc. Research Reports
In a blog post dated September 8, 2014 on Twitter, Inc.'s (Twitter) official website, Tarun Jain, Group Product Manager of the Company, stated that Twitter is testing a new way for users to discover and buy products on its website.
