GETZVILLE, N.Y., July 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bryant & Stratton College has appointed a new president who will carry the torch on a strategic plan that gives students the most direct and successful path toward a high demand career.
Francis J. Felser has been named president and chief executive officer. He has been with Bryant & Stratton College for almost 25 years in a number of roles, including chief academic officer. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer.
Felser's experience includes serving on two prominent education associations. He holds positions as a commissioner with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and trustee and treasurer of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Felser helped lead the college's transition from a nationally accredited college focused on skills-based training, to a regionally accredited college that develops career-ready graduates. Part of that transition included development and implementation of EmployableYOU, a unique experience that provides students a holistic approach to classroom instruction, combining academic theory with real world career-related applications.
"Fran's dedication and passion for our mission has been instrumental in the success of our graduates and our institution alike. The board believes in his vision for the future and shares his optimism for a bright future for Bryant & Stratton College and its students, alumni and staff," said Bryant H. Prentice, III, chairman of the board at Bryant & Stratton College.
Felser takes over for Cindy H. Susienka who is stepping down. During her tenure, Susienka led the college through the introduction of new programs, the launch of an advertising campaign and the development of the college's transformational strategic plan.
As CEO, Felser's immediate attention will turn to leading the execution of the strategic plan, which focuses on achieving strong outcomes and providing a customized educational approach that delivers the most direct and successful path toward completing a credential in a high demand profession. This includes expanding the college's digital learning approaches and arming students with the hard and soft skills that will lead to successful employment.
"Today's students are faced with increasingly specialized demands from employers. It is our mission to arm them for success. Through the talent and support of the entire faculty and staff, Bryant & Stratton College remains dedicated to providing organizational accountability and responsibility to maintain and continuously improve institutional and student learning outcomes," said Felser.
Felser holds a Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Buffalo, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Mathematics from Canisius College.
