New North Carolina TechVoice Chapter Hosts Policy Briefing

Lawmakers, Policy Experts to Discuss Recent Election, Preview Issues Affecting Tech Industry

DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Lawmakers and policy experts will examine what 2013 may hold for North Carolina's technology industry at a briefing hosted by the new North Carolina chapter of TechVoice.

TechVoice is a partnership of CompTIA, the non-profit association for the technology industry, the Technology Councils of North America (TECNA) and participating regional technology associations, including the North Carolina Technology Association.

The briefing is scheduled for 8-10 a.m. Friday, January 11, at The Solution Center, 1101 Slater Road, Suite 200, Brighton Hall/Second Floor, Durham.

Experts will weigh in on the impact of the 2012 elections and preview key policy battles. Discussion topics will include the Congressional "lame duck" agenda; evolving tech policy issues; the fiscal cliff; the possibility of new state taxes in North Carolina; and other key issues in the state legislature and on Capitol Hill.
