New Medical Computer Technology Expected to Transform Healthcare's Mobile Workstations
Cybernet Manufacturing introduces the first medical cart computer that powers itself and external peripherals, improving patient care and decreasing hospital costs
IRVINE, Calif., May 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cybernet Manufacturing, a leading ODM manufacturer of medical PCs and tablets, is bringing true PC mobility to healthcare with its Medical All-in-One Computers that power themselves and the connected peripherals.
The CyberMed NB24 is a 24" all-in-one medical computer powered by three hot-swap batteries, a lightweight build ideal for non-powered medical carts. The CyberMed NB series have been designed to be standalone and without reliance on AC power, mobile computers that power themselves and directly power the peripherals such as barcode readers, printers, scanners and more.
"These are the only medical computers currently available on the market that offer the unique feature of powering peripherals," said Ali Bagheri, Global Senior Vice President, Cybernet. "With our revolutionary power output design, these computers are a game changer in healthcare technology. The impact on hospitals and clinics will be enormous."
The CyberMed NB models offer up to 60 watts of power through a convenient DC power output jack on the I/O coastline. A point of care team can use the non-powered cart, medical computer, and peripherals without ever having to plug in. The hot-swap technology lets medical staff change the batteries without powering off the device.
"The benefits of this new technology on mobile workstations cannot be understated. Lower costs. Greater mobility. Less stress on medical staff," continues Bagheri. "Our CyberMed NB24 is a powerhouse. EHR-ready, fanless and waterproof, with an antimicrobial coating, and a Skylake 6th Gen Intel Core CPU."
Complete with a fingerprint reader, internal RFID, and Imprivata SSO, the CyberMed NB series feature three batteries that last up to a total of 16 hours – full shift.
"No other PC on the market affords this kind of flexibility," concludes Bagheri. "Medical staff want to focus on the patients, not on the computer charging or maintenance. The CyberMed NB24 does just that – it works for you while you attend to the patients."
