New March Networks Video Intelligence Software Delivers Enhanced Browser-Based Management and Investigation
LAS VEGAS, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ - March Networks®, a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, is pleased to announce enhancements to its Command video management system (VMS) software, 8000 Series Hybrid recording platform and industry-first GURU smartphone application that make it even easier for organizations to use, manage and deploy intelligent video. The newest software releases continue March Networks' commitment to delivering enterprise-class solutions optimized for banks, retailers and other organizations with multiple locations and system users.
Command 1.7
March Networks Command™ VMS version 1.7 introduces an intelligent interface design that enhances the user experience and further speeds centralized investigations. New motion histograms enable administrators and fraud or loss prevention investigators to quickly find the video they need from any location, while interactive maps with thumbnail previews and efficient map-to-map navigation provide security staff with rapid search and review capabilities. With the latest feature enhancements, organizations can remotely configure recordings and monitor IP camera performance easily via Command's single, browser-based interface. The software provides at-a-glance system information on schedule settings, recording conditions, estimated retention times and storage size per camera.
Command is one of the only VMS solutions that supports complete surveillance system configuration and administration - in addition to live and archived video access - via its browser-based client interface. Open and standards-based, this latest software release also expands integrations with an already extensive list of leading third-party IP cameras.
8000 Series Software
New software enhancements available on the company's high-performance 8000 Series Hybrid Network Video Recorders (NVRs) ensure full Command 1.7 compatibility, as well as dual-stream support for all March Networks IP cameras and leading third-party IP devices. The dual streaming allows organizations to record high-resolution video while viewing or displaying live video at lower frame rates - a key capability for locations with limited bandwidth. Additional features available with the new software release include enhanced public viewing via analog and HDMI outputs, and audio play from both live and archived video. In addition, support for a further 16 alarm inputs and 16 relay outputs via the March Networks Command I/O Extension Board provides organizations with a cost-effective option for expanded integration with alarms and other business systems.
"Delivering full-featured systems that are easy to use and address the needs of multiple users within an organization - including investigators, administrators and security staff - is a key strength of our solutions," said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer, March Networks, "In addition, we always keep the needs of our channel partners in mind through our commitment to open standards, reliability, and innovative features that save systems integrators and their customers both time and costs."
Wireless Provisioning via GURU
A prime example of March Networks' support for its certified partners is a unique wireless provisioning capability the company is adding to its industry-first GURU smartphone application. The latest version of the application, which is available as a free download from the App Store and Google Play, will allow partners to do final system provisioning conveniently with their smartphones or tablets. With GURU, technicians can simply insert a wireless USB adapter into any 8000 Series Hybrid NVR and use the application's Provisioning Interface screen to scan the QR code on the recorder and make the wireless connection. They can then review or change an IP address, check Domain Name System (DNS) settings, and register or unregister a recorder from the March Networks Enterprise Service Manager. The capability means technicians are never caught short when they need to make a last-minute networking adjustment onsite and either don't have Internet access or the time to set up and connect a laptop computer.
March Networks is demonstrating its newest Command VMS and 8000 Series hybrid NVR solutions, as well as the GURU smartphone application, in Booth 26057 at the ISC West International Security Conference and Exposition, April 2-4, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.
