New Jersey's Parker Center for Plastic Surgery Introduces Long-Lasting Cellulite Reduction
Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Parker is pleased to offer patients Cellfina® cellulite reduction
PARAMUS, N.J., May 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Parker Center for Plastic Surgery is pleased to be one of the first practices in New Jersey to offer Cellfina®, a minimally invasive cellulite treatment.
Cellulite is a common condition that impacts a large percentage of the population—and it does not discriminate based on fitness level, age, or weight. The tell-tale dimpled appearance of cellulite is the result of fibrous tissue bands woven through the fat in the buttocks and thighs. These tight bands pull the skin inward, creating the puckering you see on the surface of the skin. It is notoriously difficult to treat without invasive options. That is what makes Cellfina a breakthrough treatment: it is the first minimally invasive procedure to dramatically reduce the appearance of cellulite with little discomfort or downtime.
"Until Cellfina, cellulite has been nearly impossible to treat. 'Quick fix' topical creams and non-surgical treatments are notoriously ineffective," explains board certified plastic surgeon and Medical Director of the Parker Center, Dr. Paul Parker. "Many patients have complained to me about unsightly cellulite dimples, feeling they were untreatable. Cellfina is allowing us to give patients smoother looking thigh and buttock skin. We are thrilled to make this treatment available to the public just in time for summer."
Dr. Parker uses Cellfina's patented technology to target areas of puckered skin and sever the connective tissue bands. The device operates mechanically and, unlike many other treatment options, does not require lasers, heat, or radiofrequency to achieve results. When placed on the dimpled skin, the system suctions up the affected area and a small, sharp needle is inserted just under the skin to release the connective bands. Similar to a rubber band under tension, once released, the treated skin bounces back to smooth itself out.
"We apply a local numbing agent to the skin before surgery, followed by local anesthesia. Because the needle is so thin and is only inserted less than a quarter inch under the skin, the procedure causes very little discomfort for the patient and treated areas heal quickly," Dr. parker notes. "The procedure takes around one hour to complete and recovery is minimal—the majority of my patients are able to resume their normal day-to-day activities almost immediately."
Results can be seen in as little as three days. In trial studies before the release of Cellfina, patient satisfaction was 85% at three months, 94% at one year, and 96% at two years, surpassing the patient satisfaction rates of other leading cellulite treatments. Additionally, Cellfina offers longer-lasting results than most other options on the market. "My patients have been incredibly happy with the procedure and love knowing that Cellfina results have been proven to last at least two years," Dr. Parker states.
