New Jersey Mall Presents "A Christmas Story" Themed Experience This Holiday Season
Holiday Walkthrough Display Created by Award-Winning Parker 3D is Free and Open Now Through December 24th
SCOTCH PLAINS, N.J., Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Warner Bros. iconic holiday classic, A Christmas Story, has inspired an interactive experience that is currently open at the Cherry Hill Mall in New Jersey and drawing in large crowds this holiday season. The display, created by experience specialist, Parker 3D, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), features nostalgic scenes from the treasured holiday classic movie.
PREIT, (Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust), owners of the Cherry Hill Mall, enlisted Parker 3D to create a holiday themed display that is fun for kids and nostalgic for grownups. The experience has been an overwhelming success, drawing in crowds since its launch, and attracting visitors from all over the Mid-Atlantic region.
Visitors can explore the Parker family kitchen and capture a family photo in front of the iconic Leg Lamp in the Parkers' living room. Guests can extend the experience by using the Cherry Hill Mall app on their mobile device to view augmented reality Bumpus hounds devour the holiday turkey. No small detail was left unturned, complete with vintage appliances, a living room set to the sounds of an antique radio, and of course, the infamous "major award" shining brightly in the window! The adventure continues as children take a ride down Santa Mountain after meeting Santa Claus.
The design team at Parker 3D, led by director John Carter, collaborated with WBCP to bring this experience to life. "We have created dozens of holiday displays all over the world, but few would compare to the fun and sentimental feeling of recreating the scenes from A Christmas Story," said Carter, "Our goal is to get people out of the house and into the mall for an enhanced holiday experience."
