New iPhone Application From Medela Puts Helpful Breastfeeding Information at Moms' Fingertips
—Free iPhone App gives moms breastfeeding tips and helps caregivers stay on track—
MCHENRY, Ill., Jan. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In support of moms who choose to breastfeed and/or breastpump, Medela is launching a new application for the iPhone and iPod touch. iBreastfeed is free and available now through the iTunes App Store.
iBreastfeed will give moms helpful information and practical advice throughout their breastfeeding experience. It also helps moms and caregivers manage babies' daily activities. The App's features include a locator to find local breastfeeding and breastpumping-friendly places, a Breastfeeding Resource Guide, and a Baby Activity Log.
With the Breastfeeding-Friendly Places feature, on-the-go moms can quickly locate a clean, comfortable place to breastfeed or breastpump. Driven by GPS navigation and Google Maps, the locator will include Medela reviewed and approved locations nationwide. Moms can also submit their favorite public locations for breastfeeding and include comments.
The Breastfeeding Resource Guide provides information on breastfeeding, breastpumping, overcoming challenges, breastmilk storage and links to additional online breastfeeding resources, including The Nursing Mother's Counsel, Medela's free Ask the LC service, and Medela Tips & Solutions. Through the Activity Log, a mom can upload a picture of her baby, as well as track and record breastfeeding/pumping sessions, sleep schedules and diaper changes, and other milestones such as doctor's appointments. The Activity Log can track up to six infant schedules at once, making it a perfect tool for moms and caregivers of multiple babies.
iBreastfeed is free for moms and puts a wealth of information in one easy-to-access place. To learn more about the App's features please visit www.medelabreastfeedingus.com.
