Sellick is also committed to volunteerism, donating her coaching and training services to World Youth International (WYI), an Adelaide, South Australia-based nonprofit that facilitates volunteer opportunities for Australians of all ages in Kenya, Nepal and Peru. In the fourth video in ICF's Credential Legacy series, she describes the service trip to Kenya that she organized after hearing the stories of the WYI volunteers she coached.
Billed the "Safari of the Soul," the trip brought together a group of Australian women to work alongside female villagers in Kenya on sustainable development projects, including the construction of new homes. Sellick says the experience changed her perspective on her coaching.
"The challenges that were before me were beyond anything that I ever experienced, and I've been able to come home [with] a really deep sense of appreciation and understanding, and an awareness of what the team leaders experience," she explains in the video, which is posted on the ICF Credential Legacy microsite at ICFCredentialLegacy.com and on YouTube.
"Every day, ICF Credential-holders like Inta Sellick donate their time and energy to help nonprofit organizations' leaders, volunteers and clients experience the benefits of professional coaching firsthand," said ICF 2014 Global Chair and Master Certified Coach Damian Goldvarg, Ph.D. "These outstanding practitioners embody ICF's core values of integrity, excellence, collaboration and respect."
The video series is the latest component of ICF's ongoing Credential Legacy Campaign, which spotlights testimonials and industry research illustrating the numerous personal and professional benefits associated with the pursuit and achievement of an ICF Credential. Earlier videos in the series feature ICF Professional Certified Coach Julia Mattern (USA), ICF Associate Certified Coach Janez Hudovernik (Slovenia) and ICF Master Certified Coach Elena Espinal (Mexico). In the coming months, ICF will premiere additional videos that tell the diverse stories of ICF Credential-holders from around the world.
