ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- With the arrival of winter, Seasons 52 has released its new menu, delivering ingredients naturally suited to the changing season. Seasons 52 sources the freshest and most seasonally relevant ingredients, changing the menu quarterly. The recently released winter menu – which evolves based on new, fresh ingredients – includes items such as braised short rib, roasted golden beets, and oak-grilled potato salad.
Fresh Ingredients
A single season can offer up ingredients that come into their prime at different times. That's why Seasons 52 will update its menu throughout the winter with additions such as Nantucket Bay scallops, available in December. Nantucket Bay scallops, known for their perfect texture and unique sweetness, are sourced for only a few select months every year. Seasons 52 works with The Nantucket Bay Scallop Trading Company, a fourth generation family of local fishermen and an artisanal sustainable fishery, who can only harvest the scallops on weekdays when the air is above 28 degrees by 10 a.m. This practice protects the undersized juveniles and preserves the population, making these sweet scallops' availability even more precious for this select time.
"We wait all year to get a taste of Nantucket Bay scallops," said Alex Wheldon of The Nantucket Bay Scallop Trading Company. "By partnering with Seasons 52, a restaurant that understands that ingredients are best when they are sourced right, more people are given the chance to try them. We are proud of our work, our product, and the happiness the scallops bring to those who discover them."
Thanksgiving Specials
Not only does Seasons 52 source ingredients at the peak of freshness, the restaurant helps guests discover how the best ingredients can transform a dining experience. That's why this Thanksgiving, Seasons 52 will serve up Plainville Farms turkeys, never-ever treated with antibiotics or hormones. To accommodate festive gathering needs, private dining rooms at Seasons 52 will be available for events both large and small – offering guests many options to celebrate with friends and family.
Perfect Pairings
Tastes of winter go beyond just food. Seasons 52 is known for creating drink pairings that elevate seasonal flavors. For winter, the Cranberry & Sage cocktail delivers aromas of pine and berries, with Prairie organic gin and a candied sage leaf. Guests can also raise a toast with 52 options for wine by the glass, and over 100 hand-selected bottles.
"Terroir, or the land and environment where a wine is made, is an essential element of every bottle," according to George Miliotes, Master Sommelier of Seasons 52. "At Seasons 52, we source ingredients – not just wine – that express the time and place that they are from. Brought together, the dishes and drinks of the winter menu are a wonderful way to express the holiday season."
