"As a solo practitioner, I understand the business of medicine and the problems physicians face," said Dr. Tuttle. "I'm thrilled to be able to work on behalf of physicians as a member of the AMA Board of Trustees. I truly believe that together we are stronger."
As a lifetime AMA member and member of the AMA House of Delegates since 1996, Dr. Tuttle has served as chair of the AMA Council on Medical Service, chair of the New England delegation, member of the Joint Commission workgroup for small and rural hospitals and state chair to the AMA Organized Medical Staff Section.
Dr. Tuttle was the first female president of the New Hampshire Medical Society and served on the board of the New Hampshire Medical Malpractice Joint Underwriters Association (JUA). When the state of New Hampshire tried to balance its budget by taking JUA funds owed to physicians, Dr. Tuttle successfully sued the state and won two appeals before the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
Dr. Tuttle is currently mayor of the City of Lebanon and a practicing dermatologist. She is a graduate of the University of Maine and Tufts University School of Medicine.
