New GQ iPad App Debuts with May 2011 Issue
Available on iTunes Now
NEW YORK, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- GQ is launching a new digital edition for iPad beginning with the May issue. The latest app provides a more interactive and enhanced reader experience and more closely resembles the look and feel of the print magazine. The app's interactive features include 360-degree images, animation, better social media integration, and the ability to hyperlink to external content and information, allowing for a more engaging user experience. In addition to providing all content from the print issue, the app also includes multimedia features, such as exclusive behind-the-scenes video from GQ's May photo shoots with actor Cam Gigandet and motocross star Travis Pastrana, bonus photo outtakes of actress Jennifer Lawrence not available on newsstands, and a special iPad-only video of May cover guy, Zach Galifianakis.
The GQ app was first released in November 2009. The new app was developed in-house using the Adobe platform. Issue apps will no longer be available on the iPhone or the iPod Touch, except as an archive of back issues for users who have previously downloaded them.
The new and improved iPad app is available for free at the iTunes store: http://www.itunes.com/appstore/. Digital issues can be purchased for $4.99.
