New Frigidaire® Dishwasher Eliminates Dishwasher Do-Overs - Gets Dishes Perfectly Clean The First Time
Survey Finds Millions of Americas "Wiping Clean" Dishes and Serving After Dishwasher Fails to Clean Properly
CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- America's dirty little secret is out! A recent study commissioned by Frigidaire®[1] found that nearly 30 million American dishwasher owners during their lifetime have wiped off a dirty dish or glass and served it at a gathering or meal after their dishwasher failed to get it clean. While less than 1 of 5 dishwasher owners would feel most comfortable serving their in-laws (4%) and children (14%) a dish that wasn't fully clean, significant others were not as safe — more than 15 million admitted to feeling most comfortable serving their spouse or significant other a dish that had to be 'wiped' clean.[2] But with the introduction of the new Frigidaire Gallery® Dishwasher, friends and family no longer have to worry about being victim to a dirty dish in disguise. Its OrbitClean™ Wash Arm technology provides four times better water coverage ensuring dishes are fully cleaned the first time.
With more 78 percent of dishwasher owners admitting to performing dishwasher do-overs – including re-running the dishwasher because the dishes weren't clean (22%) or because the detergent wasn't dispensed properly (19%) or re-cleaning and re-drying dishes (48%) – the new dishwasher is a welcome addition to America's kitchens. Frigidaire® has created a unique soap, soak and rinse system that features the exclusive OrbitClean™ Wash Arm, which improves cleaning performance by delivering four times more water and detergent throughout the tub. Instead of just dispensing water in a circular pattern, the OrbitClean™ Wash arm rotates in the tub. This motion distributes water to the toughest spots on dishes to achieve a more thorough clean and rinse.
It also delivers the best drying performance[3] with the SaharaDry™ Cycle, which gives a straight to cabinet dry, another great time-saving benefit. And, with its quiet performance, families can enjoy their time together without interruptions from their dishwasher.
"Washing dishes should be the dishwasher's job, not our consumers'," says John Weinstock, Vice President Marketing. "With features like the OrbitClean™ Wash Arm and the SaharaDry™ Cycle, there's no need to re-wash, re-dry, or re-run the dishwasher."
To celebrate the launch of the new Frigidaire Gallery® Dishwasher, which "gets it right the first time," Frigidaire® is inviting consumers to visit facebook.com/Frigidaire to submit a moment that they wished they got right the first time around. Whether it's a bad first date or a vacation gone wrong, Frigidaire® will help cover the costs for one lucky visitor to carry out the ultimate do-over.[4] And, for each do-over submitted, Frigidaire® will donate $1 to Save the Children.[5]
The Energy Star® qualified dishwasher is part of a unique collection of Frigidaire® products Built with American Pride – designed, assembled, and engineered in the U.S.A. Receive a special introductory offer of an additional one year extended service agreement for all dishwashers with OrbitClean™ technology purchased from May through June, 2012.[6] The offer includes FGHD2465N, FPHD2485N, and FGBD2445N with BladeSpray™.
