New Figures Reveal America's Top 10 Wealthiest and Poorest Cities
CashAdvanceOnline.net comments on new figures that show economic disparity between the top 10 wealthiest and top 10 poorest cities in the United States
CHICAGO, October 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
New figures show that the median household income within the United States has not changed during the year of 2012 to 2012 despite falling by 7% at the start of the recession. The U.S Census Bureau has released new statistics that show a similar pattern within the largest U.S cities, detailing the poorest and the wealthiest in contrast to one another.
CashAdvanceOnline.net, the McAfee Secure™ rated consumer finance site and short-term loan aggregator, has commented on the statistics for the top poorest and top wealthiest U.S. cities according to the findings by the Census Bureau.
"The figures collated by the U.S. Census Bureau show that income for the majority of the 366 metropolitan areas within the nation has remained totally unchanged in the best case scenarios and has dropped considerably in the worst. For individuals and families living in cities with the lowest incomes, times continue to be tight. Thankfully, for consumers in states that permit cash advance loans, these may offer much needed financial respite in the short term."
The statement continued to address the link between income levels and rates of poverty.
"Analysts used various indices to calculate which metropolitan areas are the poorest and richest. Income levels and poverty rates, although not in themselves conclusive indicators, often suggest a nexus. For example, all of the 10 poorest metropolitan areas now in fact have higher proportions of residents that live below the Federally defined poverty level. The national figure of Americans living in poverty is 15.9%. In Brownsville, Texas, the poverty rate is the highest in the nation at 36%."
