New Fieldglass European Data Centres Now Powering Many Of Its Customers' Services Procurement Programmes
Data centres in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom (U.K.) give customers more options about where their data is hosted
LONDON, March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fieldglass, Inc., an SAP company and the global cloud technology leader in services procurement and external workforce management, launched new, fully redundant data centres in response to the increasing demand by customers to understand and control where their data is hosted. Several Fieldglass customers went live in the U.K. and the Netherlands data centres at the time of the launch.
Fieldglass' European-based operations, which include development, quality assurance, information technology and customer support teams, will fully manage these data centres. With multiple European data centres, Fieldglass can replicate data and execute disaster recovery directly within the European Union (EU), providing sustained business operations to its customers.
"We are redoubling our commitment to the European market and the customers we work with here," said Mikael Lindmark, Vice President, EMEA, Fieldglass. "Fieldglass is making great strides to proactively address data privacy and protection laws, as well as other regulations impacting the relationship between the buyer and worker. We have dramatically increased our investments in local talent and resources to avoid the need to transfer data to the United States."
Fieldglass' European data centres are hosted by ServerCentral. The working relationship was initially established and proven in the United States, as ServerCentral met Fieldglass' stringent security standards as a result of Fieldglass' review of the independent third party attestation reports completed for ServerCentral's data centre hosting services. Fieldglass is the only global Vendor Management System (VMS) provider that has earned an ISO 27001 certification, and plans to expand the scope of the SSAE 16 / ISAE 3402 SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 to include all Fieldglass EU operations. In addition, Fieldglass is the only global VMS that has been audited against all five SOC 2 trust services principles, including security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.
"As we expand operations globally, we are addressing data privacy and security with the same rigour as our well-established US operations. The EU has very strict data privacy requirements, and I'm confident about our expansion in the region. Fieldglass has always taken security very seriously and as a result, we are the most highly credentialed VMS in the industry by way of our ISO 27001 certification and SOC 1 and SOC 2 examinations," said Dan Bell, Vice President, Quality Assurance, Fieldglass.
