New Education Campaign Seeks to Teach Consumers, Medical Pros to Fight Pain Without Drugs
BioElectronics to Participate in "Take Control of Your Pain" Day In Phoenix
FREDERICK, Md., March 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BioElectronics Corporation (OTC Pink: BIEL), the maker of advanced consumer medical devices and drug-free pain therapies, announced today that it is participating in upcoming consumer educational events and programs as part of an international campaign to discuss alternative pain modalities.
BioElectronics is participating in "Take Control of Your Pain" day sponsored by the U.S. Pain Foundation on Sunday, March 9, at the Phoenix Convention Center. Mac Stein, MSc, PT, will answer questions and provide information about drug-free treatment of injuries and chronic pain. Stein, a registered physical therapist, has been using BioElectronics products in his practice since 2009.
"Consumers should know that physical therapy especially when augmented with pain relief devices like those made by BioElectronics can provide significant relief by quickly minimizing pain and reducing swelling. ActiPatch seamlessly integrates with most pain management programs," Stein said. Stein pointed out that localized treatments are inherently less risky than systemic drugs with the potential for side effects and drug interactions. Phoenix area pain sufferers interested in attending the meeting can get directions and more information on the U.S. Pain Foundation web site: http://www.uspainfoundation.org/uspain-events.html
Additional upcoming installments of BioElectronics educational program on Google Plus News, "Get Out of Pain," will feature a panel of medical experts providing consumer level education highlighting drug-free pain treatment. Upcoming programs will feature among others:
- Lawrence Michaelis MD; Emeritus Professor of Surgery and formerly Chief of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery and Associate Dean of Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Michaelis also previously served as a Senior Surgeon and Investigator at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Michaelis will provide an introduction to the physiology of pain.
- Dr. William Van der Reis, California-based Board Certified Orthopedist and Olympic Ski Team Physician, will discuss strategies for minimizing drug use while dealing with common sports injuries.
- Dr. Dee Kotak, London-based FRCA, Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, Member of the Royal College of Physicians will report on advances in the UK treatments of Anaesthesia and trauma.
