During the Fox News/Google Republican Debate in Orlando, Florida, we heard no new ideas from anyone on stage for how to help the middle class or create jobs. What we did hear, however, was a chorus of Republican voices calling for the dismantling or destruction of many of the initiatives that have helped strengthen and protect the middle class, children, the environment and consumers – from the EPA to the Department of Education to Wall Street Reform and health reform. That might work in the Tea Party Republican primary, but it's not going to work for middle class American families.
