New Cost-effective Temperature Control Boards from LCR Provide Increased Safety, Better Reliability
Ideal for Heating and Chilling Applications in the Food Service Industry
NORRISTOWN, Pa., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- LCR Electronics, a leading manufacturer of EMI filters and electronic control products as well as high-end enclosures for military, telecom and commercial applications, now offers OEMs two digital electronic temperature controls in an open-board style that incorporate solid state digital circuitry. The new, cost-effective EC112 and EC114 controls are ideal for use in various heating and chilling applications such as convection ovens, conveyor ovens and toasters, buffet lines and refrigerating products found in the food service industry or any process application where temperature regulation is important.

With cost-consciousness in mind, LCR constructed the EC114 by combining the low-cost EC112 with an easily integrated 'snap-on' board to provide a digital interface. Because both boards utilize the same base architecture, OEMs can easily incorporate both versions into their product lines, while benefitting from economies of scale by purchasing larger quantities of the EC112 to use alone or with the supplementary digital interface board for EC114 applications.
The new EC112 and EC114, which use standard platinum RTD or NTC thermistor temperature probes with an optional mechanical relay or opto-triac output, provide safe and reliable temperature control. The digital circuitry constantly monitors for a broken temperature probe or output relay, while the control algorithm uses an adaptive variable duty cycle technique for better accuracy and less overshoot. The new controls accept 120 VAC, 208 VAC or 240 VAC power at 50 Hz/60 Hz.
The set point for the EC112 is controlled by a potentiometer for the classic look of a knob-pointer bulb-and-capillary control. The EC114 is available in three-button and encoder-and-button versions with a three-character, seven-segment LED temperature display for a modern digital appearance. In addition, there are four LED colors to choose from: red, yellow, green and blue.
All LCR electronic and motor control boards are standard in design; however, customization can be developed very cost-effectively. The new temperature control boards easily combine with other electronic controls from LCR such as the EC110 liquid level control board.
Pricing starts at $25 for the EC112 and $32 for the EC114 for a minimum 1,000 units. Delivery is 16 weeks ARO.
