New Cloud-Based Web Filtering App Annihilates Inappropriate Content on Smartphones
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Retina-X Studios, winner of the 2012 TopTenREVIEWS.com Gold Award for cell phone monitoring software, announced today the release of SmyleSafe Mobile Browser and Parental Control Suite for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7 smartphones.
The cloud-based Web filtering system provides an effective way for young family members to safely surf the mobile Web. An included online dashboard allows parents to squash inappropriate content while keeping track of their child's Internet activities and locations from any Internet-connected Web browser.
SmyleSafe features pre-configured filtering based on age group or categories. Along with a built-in list of over 350,000 categorized URLs, the system relies on cloud-based dynamic keyword analysis of every webpage accessed. Parents are also allowed to enter their own set of websites to block or allow.
With geofencing, parents can setup electronic boundaries for their child. If the child goes outside the boundary, an immediate email alert is sent directly to the parent's email address containing information about the incident. Recovery options are also included in case the phone is lost or stolen.
"After helping thousands of parents monitor their children's smartphone usage with PhoneSheriff, we decided to introduce a system that will prevent inappropriate content from ever making it onto the smartphone in the first place," says James Johns, CEO, Retina-X Studios, "SmyleSafe allows parents to protect their children from the danger of sexually explicit, drug-related and other inappropriate website topics such as violence or hate."
SmyleSafe is priced at $4.99 for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone. The app is available in each platform's respective marketplace. A version for Windows and Mac OS is coming soon. For more information or to download, visit http://www.smylesafe.com.
