New Campfire S'More, Birthday Cake, and Lemon Ice Chocolate Bars from Seattle Chocolates Ignite Taste Buds This Summer

SEATTLE, June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Seattle Chocolates - http://www.seattlechocolates.com - launches its limited edition "Summer Love" bar collection in three refreshing new flavors.

If you told Owner and CEO Jean Thompson a year ago that she would be selling a chocolate bar with marshmallows, a sweet she has never cared for, she would not have believed you. But her team insisted it could be great and so Thompson set them to work. As it turned out, launching this years' summer collection was no picnic.

In fact the launch of the Campfire S'More bar was postponed indefinitely because it seemed impossible to find an all-natural kosher marshmallow to meet the exacting standards of Seattle Chocolates chief chocolatier. After much searching, a handmade, vegan (no animal product) marshmallow was finally sourced but presented other difficulties in size (large) and texture (wet). For inclusion into the bar, marshmallows were hand cut, dehydrated in small batches and cut again, which means that only small batches of the S'More bar can be produced each day.

The special cake mix in the new Birthday Cake bar includes only eight ingredients, and is made with unbleached and unbromated wheat. Confetti bits are colored with plant and vegetable-based natural colors. Thompson says, "At $3.50 estimated retail price, it's priced less than many birthday cards and is even more fun to give and receive."

Lemon Ice is a remix of Seattle Chocolates' retired, award-winning Lemon Mousse Bar. This bar is made with white chocolate and sour lemon candy pieces. The old-fashioned lemon candy is made by hand by a small candy factory in Illinois who has been using the same recipe since 1965.
