New Book Helps Readers Apply Ancient Wisdom to Modern Life
Author Gayle Redfern Explores Powerful Connections between Past and Present
PITT MEADOWS, British Columbia, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- To move toward a positive future, one must know their past. In her new book, "Ancient Wisdoms: Exploring the Mysteries and Connections" (published by AuthorHouse), author Gayle Redfern shares the significance of applying ancient beliefs and laws to modern society. When individuals apply beliefs of the indigenous to daily living, they are able to bring their body, mind and spirit into balance. Each individual balance then transfers over to the entire community.
"Ancient Wisdoms: Exploring the Mysteries and Connections" brings to light the powerful connections between ancient and modern people and reminds us of similarities between cultures around the globe. The reader will find technical data combined with a plea for human integrity. Redfern explores the relationship between the 10,000-year-old Kennewick man of mainland America, the 17,000-year-old pottery ruins of Chile and their association with the Jomon of Asia and modern Ainu of Japan. While exploring the beliefs of countless cultures, Redfern also compares humankind with nature to derive conclusions about society. Redfern writes:
The knowledge imparted by each generation of butterflies reminds us that as we travel around the globe, both regional residences and travelers learn. When a butterfly or cocoon appears to us, it is an opportunity to pause, pick up the wisdom of the region or territory and carefully note what knowledge we can leave for the present and future generations of the region. Butterflies evolve from egg to caterpillar to cocoon to the beautify butterfly, that we love and admire. At each phase, the butterfly lives in peace and the immediate present. |

The difference between butterflies and humans is we have choices as to how we live. Butterflies have one, living in peace and harmony. For humans, choice one is initiating global changes that damage the Earth. Choice two leaves the planet just as we find it with no improvement or developments, all lessons are lost. Or, the preferable choice, involves revisiting primordial cultures, selecting the best characteristics from each era and blending them into our modern technological world. Each era and each society leaves a legacy of good and bad. |

As stated by Redfern, the indigenous people of the world's past live by certain teachings and guidelines -- they know how to learn from the past and move on. They knew by taking the past gentleness and humor of the world, they eliminated fear. By adopting these teachings, humans could move into the future in peace. When asked of her motivation in writing this book, Redfern explains:
As an intuitive, my spirit friends told me it was time to revisit the teachings and guidelines of the indigenous of the world. I looked for cultures that honor their ancestors and bring their teachings into daily life, with integrity. Powerful ancient teachings are a gift to the present. |
