New Board Game ZERO Challenges Families to Aim Low and Score High
The first Q&A board game where zero is a winning number
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- If you've ever wondered what it feels like to be a complete zero, then University Games (http://www.ugames.com/) has a game for you.
Designed for 2-6 players ages 12 and up, ZERO (http://www.zerothegame.com) is a new and exciting family board game that asks players to search their minds for the "least popular" aspects of pop culture, sports, music, geography and more.
University Games asked more than 450 people in the United States, the UK, Australia and Mexico questions from the game. The responses were tabulated and assigned points based on their ranked popularity. The winner is the player who has closest to zero points at the end of the game.
"Typical trivia games reward players for memorizing the 'correct' answer, but ZERO requires a different kind of thinking pattern that challenges grownups and kids alike to creatively look at the world from an alternative viewpoint," said Bob Moog, President of University Games.
ZERO is available with an MSRP of $29.98 through major toy retailers including Toys R Us (http://www.toysrus.com/storeLocator/index.jsp). For a limited time, buyers can get a $5.00 rebate http://ugames.com/promos/ZERO_QRC.asp on their purchase of ZERO.
ZERO is on the web at http://www.zerothegame.com, Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/zerothegame) and Twitter (http://twitter.com/zerothegame).
Additionally, ZERO is supported by a series of webisodes appearing on various video sites, including YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/ZeroBoardGame). The webisodes feature a laugh-filled game session starring The ZERO Players (http://zerothegame.com/zero-team.htm) – a group of friends who love to play the game ZERO. The first episode is live now, and three more are scheduled during the remainder of the year.
