New Attractions for Amusement Park Fans Recommended by The GO Group
CHICAGO, May 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Amusement park enthusiasts will be happy to learn that many of the more than 80 theme parks in the United States and Canada are offering new rides, attractions and shows this year. The travel experts at The GO Group, LLC makes these recommendations:
The newest ride at Six Flags Great America in San Antonio, the "Iron Rattler," features four over-banked turns and the first-ever inverted barrel roll, a top speed of 70 mph and a staggering drop of 171 feet at an 81 degree angle.
Six Flags Great America located between Chicago and Milwaukee in Gurnee, Ill. has 14 roller coasters, a free water park and just launched igNIGHT Grand Finale, a technologically advanced show featuring singing; dancing; pyrotechnics, video and laser elements; immersive sensory effects and guest interaction.
Just north of Toronto is Canada's Wonderland, the country's largest amusement park. The venue features the Leviathan, Canada's tallest and fastest roller coaster plus more than 200 attractions. For younger enthusiasts, Elitch Gardens in Denver, Colo. opened the "Blazin' Buckaroo, with twists and turns and a top speed of 15 mph. Located two hours south of Indianapolis, Holiday World offers little ones "Kitty's Tea Party," a new teacup ride and Busch Gardens Tampa debuts "Madagascar Live! Operation: Vacation," a live music show based on the characters from the hit movies.
If water fun is your preference, head to Hersheypark, PA, (90 minutes north west of Philadelphia) for "Shoreline Sprayground," a 7,000-square-foot water play area with play structures dancing fountains and two new water slides. San Diego's new Aquatica San Diego features a 500,000-gallon wave pool, water slides and Loggerhead Lane where you can float down a 1,250-foot lazy river while watching Caribbean flamingoes.
