New Amphenol KTK Connectors Ideal for Oil and Gas Drilling Applications
Series withstands high pressure, high temperature environments
SIDNEY, N.Y., Dec. 7, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Amphenol Industrial, a global leader in interconnect systems, now offers a line of high pressure, rugged connectors for oil and gas downhole tools that feature a bi-directional psi of 20,000. Fully compatible with Kintec and GE Tensor layouts, the new KTK high pressure downhole connectors offer a high pressure and high temperature sealed connection standard in the downhole industry.

These well-constructed, reliable connectors are ideal for use in MWD (measurement while drilling) systems, LWD (logging while drilling) tools and downhole batteries. Because these assemblies provide service companies with critical information such as drillstring rotational speed and smoothness, type and severity of downhole vibration, downhole temperature, drill bit torque and weight and mud flow volume, reliable connectors that withstand harsh conditions are paramount in oil and gas drilling.
Amphenol's KTK connectors are cost-effectively utilized in applications that require low-maintenance, accurate and reliable assemblies, while being flexible and limiting risks associated with in-hole loss.
Designed to meet the rising demand for more rugged connectors in the downhole industry, the new KTK downhole connector product line uses machined PEEK polymer, a strong thermoplastic that retains its mechanical properties in extremely high temperatures.
For longer life and prolonged mating cycles, each connector is designed with gold contacts, a Vitron O-ring and solder pot connections. Cable assemblies and pigtails are also available.
Pricing for the KTK high pressure downhole connector starts at $175 per unit. Delivery is 5 - 7 weeks ARO.
