New America Energy Provides Summary of Lithium Supply and Markets Conference Highlights
LAS VEGAS, Feb. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- New America Energy Corp. (OTC: NECA) (the "Company") is pleased to provide a summary of some of the highlights from the 4th Lithium Supply and Markets event held January 23-25, 2012, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 4th Lithium Supply and Markets conference provided an opportunity for producers and emerging producers, supply and demand forecasters, end users, investment bankers and analysts, to meet and interact in both formal and informal environments.
Some of the highlights of the conference included presentations from Eric Norris, the Technology Director for second leading industry producer FMC Global, which included a forecast of the doubling of lithium demand by 2020. Talison Lithium forecast an even steeper growth in demand with a future transport high case scenario of 500,000 tonnes LCE demand by 2020 up from the 130,000 tonnes estimated consumption in 2011 by Signum Box. Future growth is seen in a jump in demand from grid storage. Robert Bayliss, head of Industrial Minerals Research at Roskill Information Services announced that Roskill Information Services pulled forward its assessment for grid storage by two years to reflect recent growth and size of projects either underway or expected to begin.
Another highlight of the event was a presentation by Dr. Matthias Uebler of Siemens AG highlighting the work that Siemens AG has underway in the solar power generation sector and the potential use of lithium nitrate in the solar power generation sector and why this technology may need large amounts of lithium nitrate by 2013/2014 onwards.
