Neverfail Releases Technical Preview of IT Continuity Architect for Download
New product bridges gap between disaster recovery and the business by providing visibility into dependencies between the IT infrastructure, critical applications and business services
AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Neverfail extended availability for its IT Continuity Architect solution, following its closed beta program. Starting today, a Tech Preview of IT Continuity Architect is available for free download in advance of general availability scheduled for October 2013. Architect helps companies bridge the gap between IT infrastructure and business services by automatically analyzing infrastructure and applications, mapping dependencies and tracking changes so IT can trust their business continuity/disaster recovery (BCDR) plans will always work.
Despite the benefits of new technologies like virtualization and cloud computing, they have added significant complexity to BC/DR operations. Until now, IT organizations have simply lacked the proper tools to identify which infrastructure components and applications are most critical to the business. IT Continuity Architect removes that roadblock by providing clear visibility into how the IT infrastructure maps to business services and identifying gaps that stand in the way of meeting business continuity objectives.
A number of companies are participating in the Neverfail Beta program, including Baker Donelson, First Acceptance Insurance, Direct General, and AMBAC Assurance.
"With Architect, I finally have discovery and dependency mapping capabilities that show me the relationship between infrastructure and applications - and provides me the assurance my business continuity plans will work like they are supposed to," said Shawn Robertson, Senior Systems Engineer at First Acceptance. "Analysis that used to take hours and hours of manual work now takes minutes."
How It Works
Neverfail's IT Continuity Architect is an operations management solution that provides visibility across the entire IT infrastructure and identifies how they are connected with applications and business services.
- First, Architect scans the infrastructure to discover servers, applications and networks, making note of any existing DR solutions in place.
- Second, it shows critical dependencies by monitoring network traffic between servers, virtual machines and applications.
- Third, it enables an organization to set availability objectives based on that information.
- Lastly, it automatically identifies gaps and risks to BCDR objectives, allowing IT to prioritize any remediation efforts and justify necessary investments.
"The biggest take-away from our customer beta program is that, no matter how much testing is performed, most IT departments can't be sure their BC/DR plans will work when needed," said Martin Mackay, CEO of Neverfail. "Managing the ever-changing environment in a modern data center requires a level of visibility that simply has not been available - until now. Architect was designed with today's fluid infrastructure in mind."
"Most BC/DR solutions neglect to take into account risks posed to the overall business," said Bill Fitzpatrick, CTO at Loop1 Systems. "Neverfail Architect's dashboard is something that every organization should have access to; Architect delivers a comprehensive level of insight into the BC/DR environment that no organization should live without."
