SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Neumont College of Computer Science, an accredited institution offering degrees and certificates in the computer sciences following a project-based curriculum, is pleased to announce a partnership with Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment (LHMSE). Through this partnership, students currently attending Neumont will develop software projects and resources for companies under the LHMSE umbrella including, but not limited to, the Utah Jazz, Tour of Utah, and The Zone Sports Network. The first student project is creating an 8-bit video game for the Utah Jazz.
"Neumont is elated to bring our students' skill and technical knowledge to the Utah Jazz," said Britta Nelson, director of corporate relations for Neumont. In her role, Nelson oversees Neumont's Enterprise Partner program. This externship program allows students to engage in real-world projects from actual employers. Details of the Jazz video game are in the early stages, but Nelson said she is already confident this specific Enterprise Partner project will be one that students are especially excited to work on. "We're looking forward to beginning the project, the season, and celebrating with Jazz fans everywhere."
Aaron Reed, Ed.D., president of Neumont echoed Nelson's remarks. He said, "This partnership will provide our students an excellent opportunity to work with one of Utah's leading companies. The industry experience gained will be something they can showcase as they transition into their tech careers. It's truly a win-win opportunity for our students, Neumont, the Jazz, and the other companies we're partnered with."
As part of the partnership agreement, Neumont will serve as a sponsor for the Utah Jazz game against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, December 4, as well as additional advertising and marketing publicity for Neumont throughout the 2018-2019 Utah Jazz season.
