NetWitness Awarded DOD Unified Capabilities Approved Products List Certification
NetWitness NextGen "Fast Tracked" on Army IA-APL
HERNDON, Va., Jan. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- NetWitness Corporation, creator of the new enterprise standard in network monitoring, today announced that version 9.5 of the company's NetWitness NextGen™ platform has been certified on the DOD Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL). As a result of this wide-reaching certification, NextGen is now approved for procurement across the entire Department of Defense (DOD).
With initiatives to reduce costs and create greater efficiencies throughout the Pentagon, consolidated programs such as the UC APL are critical. UC APL certification ensures that all DOD systems – information technology and national security systems – interoperate securely in a joint, combined, and coalition-based environment in support of global net-centric war-fighting capabilities.
NetWitness joins a select group of security technology providers to obtain certification, which was achieved via "Fast Track". In addition to the DOD UC APL, NetWitness will complete Common Criteria Certification (EAL-3) and Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) certification in 2011.
"The U.S. Government began adoption of NetWitness more than 10 years ago because we provide an enterprise solution that offers a precise and actionable understanding of everything happening on the network," said Jaci Vilardo, Vice President of Federal Sales at NetWitness. "Our close proximity to the National Capital Region has helped build trusted relationships with our government customers. Adhering to government information technology standards is critical to the growth of our business, with Information Assurance certifications such as DOD UC APL being paramount."
