NetWitness® Achieves Explosive Growth in 2010
NetWitness Reports Fourth Consecutive Year of Extraordinary Gains
HERNDON, Va., Jan. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- NetWitness Corporation, creator of the new enterprise standard in network security monitoring, today reported extraordinary corporate performance for the 2010 fiscal year. Bookings in 2010 were 208% of the previous year and the company achieved significant increases across all key corporate performance measures, marking a 10th consecutive quarter of profitability.
NetWitness continues to demonstrate outstanding growth in the financial services, high-tech, power and energy, and government sectors. During 2010, the number of NetWitness enterprise customers increased by more than 60% percent, aligning with other strong indicators for continued expansion and growth in 2011. NetWitness added 14 new customers in the Fortune 100, including five named accounts in the Fortune 10. Deployments also increased across the U.S. government sector, with over 70% of Federal agencies now customers of the company. The number of NetWitness Investigator™ Freeware users increased to over 45,000 by the end of 2010.
“We have to know what's going on in our networks,” according to John Kindervag, Senior Analyst, Forrester Research(1). “The new space we are working to define, NAV [network analysis and visibility], is designed to analyze traffic more effectively. It is imperative that people begin to do this, as lack of visibility and inspection on trusted traffic is a significant risk and has resulted in numerous data breaches in enterprise networks. NAV, along with traditional SIM tools, provides a type of network omniscience that is imperative in today’s threat environment.” Forrester has recommended that enterprises implement a “Zero-Trust“ architecture, and has called out NetWitness as a "cutting-edge NAV tool" in a November 2010 report(2).
NetWitness expanded further internationally by opening operations in Australia, Brazil, Singapore, and the U.A.E. to satisfy demand in these geographies. NetWitness’ Channel Program grew to over 100 security-focused partners across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
In 2010, NetWitness continued to prove itself as the leading innovator in network monitoring, extending the award-winning platform by releasing exciting products such as: NetWitness Visualize™, NetWitness Live 2.0, and NetWitness NextGen™ 9.5. These innovations solidified market views of NetWitness as a must-have technology for many of the largest companies and government agencies around the world and the network monitoring platform of choice.
"We are delighted by our performance and the clear demand for this revolutionary network monitoring platform, both domestically and internationally,” said Dana Duffy, CFO, NetWitness Corporation. “Given this impressive track record, and our high-level of customer satisfaction, we are confident that our 2011 performance will continue to deliver aggressive growth worldwide.”
