Netskope Takes Activity-Level Security to New Level With Microsoft Office 365 Management Activity APIs
Safe cloud enablement leader broadens integration with Office 365 via new API
LOS ALTOS, Calif., April 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Netskope, the leader in safe cloud enablement, today announced it has extended its support for Microsoft Office 365 and its associated ecosystem of cloud apps via a new Microsoft Office 365 Management Activity application program interface (API). The new integration will help IT paint an end-to-end picture of Microsoft Office 365 for a more transparent and secure environment and to ensure full compliance with key regulations.
The Netskope Active Platform integration with the Microsoft Office 365 API and Activity Feed API to provide enhanced visibility, analytics and policy enforcement. Using the new Office 365 Management Activity API, Netskope can alert IT to security issues from a triggered policy or detected as an anomaly in real-time, all from a single interface. Finally, the Netskope Active Platform makes use of these APIs to automate IT's response to issues in a targeted manner based on activity, content, device, location, and Active Directory group or user. For example, IT could automate a policy such as: "Prevent users from the investor relations AD group from sharing outside of the company," or "Prevent BYO devices from downloading attachments from Outlook but allow them to use Lync for meetings with external collaborators."
"We are thrilled that Netskope is extending its transparency and control solutions for IT departments to include Office365, by integrating with our Office 365 Management Activity APIs," said Nagesh Pabbisetty, Partner Group Program Manager, Office 365 Information Protection, at Microsoft. "It is paramount for our partners to be able to offer solutions that fit the needs of Office 365 customers of all sizes, with the ability for them to have visibility and control at each level of the stack."
"The greatest concern for IT in today's app-heavy enterprise environment is knowing exactly what's in their cloud," said Sanjay Beri, CEO at Netskope. "Netskope is able to monitor, classify, and control data at even the most granular levels to ensure true transparency into cloud app usage trends and patterns."
