The CJIS System, operated by the FBI, is used by law enforcement agencies nationwide, to provide access to fingerprints, criminal histories and other information. The CJIS Security Policy specifies secure methods for system access in order to protect citizens' private information. A revised policy issued in December 2008 called for new strong authentication measures. All connecting law enforcement agencies must comply by 2013, although CJIS recommends agencies not delay putting measures in place to meet the requirements as soon as possible.
According to featured presenter Joe Wallingford of the Kansas Highway Patrol, "Using a combination of NetMotion's Mobility XE mobile VPN and RSA's authentication technology we were able to meet the CJIS requirements. We're happy to share our experiences with our colleagues around the country, what we've learned and assist them with their efforts."
Presenters at the webinar will include:
George White, CJIS Information Security Officer at the FBI and primary architect of the CJIS policy, will explain the requirements, who is affected, and share other key information for connecting agencies
Joe Wallingford, State of Kansas Highway Patrol, will describe his agency's successful deployment of both RSA and NetMotion Wireless solutions to increase productivity and successfully comply with the policy.
Steve Fallin, Senior Product Manager at NetMotion Wireless and Karen Kiffney, Principal Product Marketing Manager of RSA will also make brief presentations and be available to answer questions.
