COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The NetJets Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots (NJASAP) will conduct informational picketing on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (local time) in seven cities across the United States. An independent labor union, NJASAP represents the interests of the 2,700-plus professional pilots who fly in the service of NetJets, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary (NYSE: BRK.A and BRK.B).
Picket details are provided below:
WHERE
COLUMBUS: NetJets Corporate Headquarters, 4111 Bridgeway Avenue
DALLAS: Signature FBO, 8001 Lemmon Avenue
SCOTTSDALE: Signature FBO, 15290 N. 78th Way
SEATTLE: Landmark FBO, 7149 Perimeter Road
TETEBORO: Landmark Aviation, 101 Lindbergh Drive
VAN NUYS: NetJets FBO, 7535 Valjean Avenue
WEST PALM BEACH: NetJets FBO, 985 Morrison Field Road
WHY
The NJASAP pilots have been forced to take this action because:
- We are exercising our right to engage in informational picketing to inform customers and the public about our continuing labor dispute with NetJets.
- More than 700 pilots are scheduled to picket across the United States in seven cities today, and they are doing so on their own time and at their own expense.
- NJASAP and NetJets have been engaged in contract negotiations since June 2013. This past April, the Union applied for mediation with the National Mediation Board, and the parties have been in government-supervised mediation since early May.
- Although NetJets has emphasized very favorable financial performance in the media, management has set its sights on our healthcare because, for lack of a better way to phrase it, everyone else is doing it.
- The parties have been unable to reach an agreement on a new contract because NetJets proposals seek to cut our healthcare benefits and to put in place a substandard wage package.
