netForensics Enters Common Criteria Evaluation Certification
nFX Cinxi One Undergoes Rigorous Assessment Mandated for National Security Systems
EDISON, N.J., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- netForensics, Inc., a leader in the Security Information Management market, today announced that it has formally entered into evaluation for Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 2+ certification for its nFX Cinxi One v.4.1 appliances. Domus IT Security Laboratory is the third-party standards testing laboratory, accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) that is responsible for evaluating technology security products that meet the highest level of standards for use by the U.S. government.
The Common Criteria is an independent, internationally recognized set of guidelines which define a common framework for evaluating security features and capabilities of information technology security products. The standard consists of several predetermined security evaluation assurance levels, assessing product functionality, development environment, documentation and product testing measures. Recognized by governments in more than 26 countries, including the U.S. and Canada, Common Criteria certification is mandated for commercial information security products purchased by the U.S. government for use in national security systems.
"The volume of data within government agencies is growing rapidly and the regulatory and compliance requirements for protecting this vital information are becoming increasingly stringent," said Tracy Hulver, Executive Vice President of Products and Marketing at netForensics. "Common Criteria certification provides validation to our global public sector and enterprise customers that nFX Cinxi One has been rigorously evaluated and tested against industry recognized security guidelines."
nFX Cinxi One provides government agencies and organizations of all sizes with a simple, cost effective approach for addressing security and compliance challenges. Cinxi combines complete log management capabilities with powerful correlation technology, real-time monitoring, and an integrated incident response system all in one appliance.
"We congratulate netForensics for entering into EAL 2+ evaluation," said Maureen Barry, at Domus IT Security Laboratory. "netForensics has demonstrated a commitment to the Common Criteria testing standards and to providing the federal government a CC EAL2+ security-certified technology."
