NetAirus Systems LLC has spent a large amount of money in developing this technology and securing rights to these patents at the USPTO. A Reexamination Certificate has been issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The patents have an early priority date, and have been vetted in successful litigation in U.S. District Court. Several past settlements or Licensing agreements have been executed for this portfolio totaling to over $14M.
This patent portfolio discloses a technology in the field of flat panel display positioning of HDTVs, display monitors, PDAs, and information devices with multiple ergonomic and usability benefits. With advances in technology and low cost of PCs and laptops, it is very common to find people spending long periods of time sitting in front of a TV or computer. Existing display devices have almost standard designs that when opened for use, the screen is in an upright, vertical position with the keyboard and computer directly beneath the screen, lying horizontally on a surface. There are serious problems with the old standard designs.
This patent portfolio also discloses a flexible and ergonomic portable workstation. A support arm allows the display screen to be adjusted by hand to the same elevation level as the user's eyes. A display screen can also be adjusted to an inclination level to enable the use of a pen and stylus device; on an incline, the screen can be put in a stable position to withstand the pressure from handwriting and drawing. This workstation is also able to incorporate a voice or data modem, telephone, detachable keyboard, and pen input devices to accommodate the voice and data communication needs of the user.
