Net Medical Xpress Program Launched to Reduce Hospital Re-Admissions
New Gold Seal Program Will Partner with Hospitals and Mobile Medical Providers to Bring Physician Care to Homes, Long Term Care and Other Facilities
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., April 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Net Medical Xpress Solutions, Inc., (OTCQB: NMXS), announced today that its telemedicine unit for diagnostic and clinical services is now offering a Gold Seal partnership program for mobile medical providers to offer hospitals a solution for minimizing patient re-admissions.
A recent CBS-TV This Morning segment showed that at least 20% of senior patients admitted to a hospital for significant medical procedures had to return to the hospital within 30 days for follow up care or treatment.
Consequently, this has created a costly burden requiring transport, additional medical care and other disruptive patient issues. The Net Medical solution will enable hospitals to provide care for many of these cases through telemedicine services at the patient's location thus lowering costs and improving patient outcomes.
Through the NMXS Gold Seal membership, nearly 275 mobile medical units and over 385 stenographers/technicians will be available across the U.S. to support rehab facilities, home visits, nursing homes, long term care operations and jails. To participate, mobile medical providers must be in good standing with FDA cleared equipment and in full compliance with state, Medicare, Medicaid or applicable regulatory endorsements.
Net Medical VP Operations, Diagnostics unit, Nestor Pena said, "We encourage mobile medical providers that can provide 24/7/365 coverage, multi-state coverage, full scope technicians and multiple modalities i.e. X-Ray, ultrasound and cardiology services to join our hospital marketing efforts.
"To participate, a Gold Seal provider must use our:
- XR-EXpress Radiology QA Program
- XR-EXpress Technician QA Program
- Be a member of the XR-Express Technology Users Group
"In addition, Gold Seal partners must be capable of handling WebRTC (Web Real Time Communications) traffic as specified and directed by Net Medical. The mobile firms should also have an established relationship with a testing lab.
Dick Govatski, CEO said, "Advances in telemedicine are rapidly becoming standard-of-care to bridge the gap between rural and urban care delivery. Implementing telemedicine services provides timely, high quality and safe patient care. Collaboration of resources among our providers will reduce health disparities and costs. Ultimately this program will improve care for thousands of patients and their families."
