Net Health Releases Data on WoundExpert's Top Seven Software Interfaces
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Net Health, the leader in software solutions for specialized outpatient care, recently released data on the most frequent software systems their WoundExpert EHR interfaces with in clinical settings around the country.
They are: Cerner, Epic, Healthcare Management Systems (HMS), McKesson Horizon Patient Folder, McKesson Star, MEDITECH, and Siemens Soarian Clinicals.
In the healthcare industry, software interoperability is critical because of its impact on patient care across the care continuum. The drive towards interoperability is being led both by providers, who understand the importance of patient data being visible across care settings, and by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) whose "Meaningful Use" program is centered around the use of EHRs in a fully interoperable manner.
Net Health software interfaces facilitate this by exchanging or transmitting data across disparate platforms, using HIPAA compliant methods to protect personal health information, and meeting HL7 (Health Level 7) standards for hospital information systems.
Net Health Chief Technology Officer, Christopher F. Hayes, explains, "With interoperability being a paramount obligation for us, our interfaces accomplish two important goals. They increase efficiency by eliminating redundant data entry work and they allow facilities to employ specialized software where it's needed. Specialized software, like ours, is necessary to accommodate for functional gaps in large enterprise wide systems that can't accommodate unique clinical workflows."
WoundExpert offers eight primary types of interfaces. These are: ADT (Admission/Discharge/Transfer); Billing; C-CDA (Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture); Clinical Documentation; Ordered Results; Scheduling; Transcription; and Unsolicited Results.
Hayes adds, "Interfacing is one way we stand out as a software vendor. Based on our capabilities, we're in the top tier of specialized medical software companies that are getting interfaces right. We understand it's imperative that our clients interface; if not with a larger system, then they may have other management or clinical software they employ. I'm pleased to say that we're interoperable with the most widely used systems in healthcare and I know that clients will keep coming to us with new or unique interface needs as well."
WoundExpert is the market leading clinical documentation and EHR software in the US wound care industry.
