Nestle USA and Superior Grocers Make Monetary Contribution to 33 Southern California Schools

GLENDALE, Calif., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Nestle USA and Superior Grocers continue their joint effort to support education by donating much needed resources to 33 Southland schools and community youth organizations. Through this partnership, Nestle USA and Superior have donated more than $217,000 in combined funds, school supplies and books to Southern California children this school year -- $79,000 donated this Spring alone.

Representatives from the 33 schools were presented with awards of $2,400 ($1,400 in school supplies and $1,000 in cash) at a ceremony held Wednesday, April 21, at a Superior Grocers store in Montebello, CA. The contributions were made possible by Nestle's Hispanic Multi-brand program, Mas de Nestle, in an effort to deliver a community-focused in-store promotion that supports Hispanic education in Southern California. Developed in partnership with Superior Grocers, the promotion included the distribution of children's books sourced from valued Nestle partner Reading is Fundamental, the nation's largest children's literacy organization.
