Nespresso Defines New Level Of Intensity With Grand Cru Coffees Kazaar And Dharkan
Coffees are Permanent Additions to Nespresso Range of Grands Crus
NEW YORK, Aug. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Nespresso, the worldwide pioneer and reference in premium, single-serve coffee, announces the permanent addition of two intense blends, Kazaar and Dharkan, to its range of Grand Cru coffees. Crafted to meet the highest standards that characterize Nespresso coffees, the blends will delight and surprise the senses of Nespresso Club Members and coffee connoisseurs alike. These new coffees have been created to meet the individual taste preferences of Nespresso Club Members and create moments of genuine tasting pleasure.
Nespresso is creating a new coffee culture in the U.S. by delivering the highest-quality coffee sourced from the top 1-2% of the world's coffee crops. Each Grand Cru is the product of a complex process of selection, assembly and roasting. Kazaar and Dharkan join the wide selection of Nespresso's premium portioned coffee offerings to meet a complete range of consumer tastes.
Nespresso coffee experts have pushed the limits of the previous Nespresso intensity scale of 1-10 with Kazaar at 12. A Nespresso Club Member favorite, Kazaar was originally a limited edition blend and is the most intense Ristretto the brand has ever offered. Dharkan (11) is a blend of 100% pure Arabicas from Latin America and Asia that offers a full, dense body.
"At Nespresso, we recognize and appreciate the popularity of and consumer demand for intense coffees in the United States," said Frederic Levy, President, Nespresso USA. "This is one of the many reasons we decided to permanently add two more intense coffees, Kazaar and Dharkan, to the Nespresso Grand Cru collection. We are proud to offer Grand Cru coffees for every taste and lifestyle, and we are delighted to now offer additional Grand Cru options to further enhance our Club Members' coffee experiences."
With the addition of Kazaar and Dharkan, the Nespresso Grand Cru permanent collection has expanded to include six new coffee offerings over the past year – Kazaar, Dharkan, Linizio Lungo, Vanilio, Ciocattino and Caramelito. The permanent range of Nespresso Grands Crus now includes 21 coffees.
Strong and intense, Kazaar and Dharkan are the perfect pairing for fresh milk-based beverages, including Cappuccinos and Lattes.
Kazaar
Responding to Club Members' requests, Nespresso is introducing Kazaar for the third time, this time permanently, making it the only Limited Edition Grand Cru to be released more than once. Kazaar was first released in 2010, and again in 2012.
Kazaar is authentic and powerful with a raw intensity of 12 – the strongest in the Nespresso Grand Cru collection. Its powerful bitterness and notes of pepper, nutmeg and cloves are balanced by a full and creamy texture. The intense coffee is a daring blend of two Robustas and a separately roasted Arabica from South America. Its unusual origins and blending method, together with its strength create a one-of-a-kind taste experience.
Dharkan
Dharkan is exceptionally intense, yet distinctively silky. This Grand Cru is a complex blend with hints of bitter cocoa powder and toasted cereals, comprised of washed Arabicas from Latin America and Asia. Dharkan was created using a technique of long roasting at low temperatures unveiling the powerful, seductive and velvety character of the blend. Its silky and smooth texture creates a subtle balance of bitterness that lingers on the taste buds. Dharkan also breaks the existing Nespresso scale with an intensity of 11.
Availability:
Kazaar and Dharkan will be available starting August 26, 2013 at Nespresso Flagship Boutiques (New York, Miami, Boston, and San Francisco), Nespresso Boutique-in-Shop locations, through the Nespresso Club (1.800.562.1465) and at www.nespresso.com. Each sleeve will sell for $7.00.
