NeoGenomics Launches 315 Gene Next Generation Sequencing Test for Solid Tumor Discovery Profiling

(NASDAQ: NEO), a leading provider of cancer-focused genetic testing services, announced today the addition of a new comprehensive solid tumor profiling test designed for clinical discovery and to support clinical trials. The test utilizes next generation sequencing ("NGS") to analyze variants in the coding sequence of 315 genes and uses conventional Fluorescent in Situ Hybridization ("FISH") methods to identify large deletions, amplifications and translocations in 9 different chromosomal loci. 

This multimodality cancer profiling test is unique and first of its kind and will address some of the limitations of NGS when used in a stand-alone fashion. It will not only detect the common molecular abnormalities in specific cancers, but may also discover unexpected abnormalities that could open up new therapeutic options for physicians and their patients.
